HB60 Highlights

  • Makes it unlawful for businesses to discriminate against an individual based on the individual's immunity status
  • Prohibits a government entity from requiring proof of immunity status.
  • Makes it unlawful for a employer to discriminate based on immunity status or to require proof of immunity status
  • Prohibits a governmental entity or employer from requiring an individual to receive a vaccine if the vaccine is authorized for emergency use or undergoing safety trials

HB60 Description

READ HB60 HERE
Earlier this year, we asked parents what voting issues were most important to them. Out of 3,482 responses these were the results. Parents made it clear that they do not want vaccine mandates. HB60 would ensure that Utah families could remain free from vaccine mandates and any type of vaccine passport system.

vaccine choice for families

  • Communicable disease is not a workplace specific hazard.  Businesses should not be burdened with the requirement to mitigate a hazard that exists everywhere in society.
  • Given the last two years, private business owners must have their right to choose NOT to act as vaccination status enforcers protected by law.  Business owners must have legal protection from being either forced by the administrative branch of government or coerced by larger businesses or business associations into taking on the administrative cost and liability burden of non workplace-specific medical interventions.
  • The rights of individuals as employees and patrons must be balanced with the rights of business owners.
  • An individual's current employment and future employment opportunities should be based upon their job skills, not immunization status
  • All of us must be free to participate in society without having to "show our papers."

  • House Bill 60 is the only bill that offers these protections:
  1. Protection of the individual to participate in society free of discrimination on the basis of his/her "immunity status;"
  2. Protection for employees and potential employees (both government and private) to be free from discrimination by their employer (or potential employer) on the basis of the employee's "vaccination status;"
  3. Protection for those business owners who do NOT want to take on the financial, liability, and invasion of privacy burden of managing the vaccination status of their employees and customers.

I think this bill is a great start but it includes quite a few exceptions which seem to be big loopholes companies can utilize to force their hand. Additionally, this only offers protection until the vaccines are approved by the FDA which will be rushed before long-term safety data is available.

I agree with HB60 and believe a YES vote should prevail.

It almost doesn't go far enough. Not only should EUA and experimental drugs or therapies NOT be mandated, but neither should any medical intervention be made mandatory or a condition of employment, membership, etc. as a slippery slope toward general discrimination in employment, lending, housing, and other societal engagements.

It sadly appears that this kind of legislation is needed because so many churches, government agencies, employers, eating and entertainment establishments are being paid or being encouraged to create such discrimination and division among the public, consumers, and tax-payers.

HB60 is a must, even if it's only one step--of many needed--in the right direction. We cannot allow discrimination on the basis of vaccination status nor should mandates be imposed that pressure businesses, schools, or churches to enforce such mandates. Doing so sets a dangerous precedent for future imposition of mandates of all kiinds.

HB60 is an important and viable bill. Let’s vote YES!

I suppprt this bill. No one should be discriminated against based upon their personal medical choices. The vaccine does not prevent transmission or contraction so there is no rational thought behind forcing of it to begin with.

I agree no government entity or employer should have right to mandate or control our rights to health choices or force their ways into our medical information.
