OPT OUT |
A school must obtain written permission from the parent to teach the sex-ed portion of the health curriculum to the student.
Parents have access to the information taught to their children. |
A School does not need to notify parents or receive written permission from parents to teach the sex-education portion of the curriculum.
Opt-out gives schools free license to teach what they want when they want. This means they do not need to inform parents of what will be taught in the school, or when it will be taught. It also allows special interest groups like Planned Parenthood to teach sex-ed in the classroom who are not accountable to parents. It means parents will not know what is taught, when it is taught, and it will not be limited to the health curriculum. |
