July 26: The New Civil Rights
August 9: Rethink your Heroes (13+)
August 23: Understanding Propaganda
When: Mondays 7-9:00 p.m.
Where: Online and at Venture X Station Park - 262 North University Ave Farmington, Utah
July 19: Freedom Writers
Across the country schools are encouraging students and parents to Join in affinity groups, to separate by race for discussions and comfort, in essence taking us backwards. We’ll wrap up this movie with a discussion on "Unity", and how we can reach out to people who are different than us without taking a knee or a submissive role, but instead as equals and as friends.
July 26: The New Civil Rights
We are constantly being told that all that is happening is for “Justice” but today's justice looks nothing like that of the original civil rights. Our progressive society is actually turning us backwards. The truth is we are the ones pushing for meritocracy, we are the ones choosing to embrace rather than exclude. We are the ones who reject racism, rather than stating that the only way way to eradicate racism is with more racism. In this class we will discuss the issues of today and how they differ with those in the past. We will discuss suppression and violence, and the cost and reward for standing up for what we know to be right.
August 9: Rethink Your Heroes
In the NEA’s recent meeting they decided they will no longer teach about Jews and Nazis. They also decided to push for Civil Activism to become a requirement to graduate. In elementary schools they are pushing for Black Lives Matter at school and a day to celebrate George Floyd. College kids and millennials wear t-shirts of Che Guavera and Mao and see them as heroic. In this class we will look at the truth of these “heroes” through video and through their own written words. We will take a look at socialism and communism and what that has meant for countless dissenters, as well as those simply deemed inessential.
(Note: Class appropriate for 13 and up.)
August 23: Understanding Propaganda
There is a saying in Post Modernism: "The ONLY TRUTH IS POWER." Today it seems as if we are losing as the media clings to only one narrative with very little thought to truth. But this isn't only relevant today. Propaganda has been used throughout history to control how and what people think. Through Film and media clips, we will see how propaganda is used to instill fear, and to increase silence and violence. We will discuss how it changes people especially children by looking at Antifa and see its links to Germany. We will end this class with a jeopardy review of all previous classes, a Q&A about race relations and how to know when you're being indoctrinated.
